Mandate
Through community building, education, and outreach, Bi+ Canada advocates for all people who experience, have experienced, or may experience multigender attraction to have full access within Canada to the support and informed resources necessary to flourish as safe, free, equal, and valued members of society.
Board of directors

AJ Dolman,
President
AJ Dolman (they/she) is the Founder and President of Bi+ Canada. They have over 30 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector, particularly in the arts and social services fields, including as a founding board member for Jer’s Vision (later the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity), founder of Ottawa’s Crafty Bi Nature and public speaker for the International Day of Pink. They contributed several years as a board member, including two as Treasurer, for the Arc Poetry Society, producer of Arc, Canada’s national poetry magazine. A professional writer and editor, they specialize in communications and financial oversight.

Dana Shaw,
Vice-President
Dana Shaw (she/her) has been a lifetime advocate for freedom of sexual expression, especially regarding Bi+ visibility. She began volunteering in the mid-1980s. In 1999 she became an active organizer for Bisexual Women of Toronto (BIWOT) and the Toronto Bisexual Network (TBN). She joined BiNetCanada in 2001. In 2006, Dana spearheaded hosting the 9th International Conference on Bisexuality, Gender, and Sexual Diversity in Toronto. She has represented Bi+ interests on a variety of committees, including the Toronto Police Service’s LBTQ+ Community Consultative Committee and its World Pride Committee, and the Toronto Women’s Bathhouse Committee. She has presented in a variety of contexts, including Sexual Attitudes Reassessment (SAR) for healthcare providers in Guelph, Ontario.

Craig Mantel,
Interim Treasurer
Craig Mantel (he/him) has a background in finance and economics and has worked in public practice for almost 30 years. Based in Ottawa, he is an avid motorcycle rider, reader, music lover, and puzzle enthusiast, and he has two cats, named Jack and Toshiko. Craig is a bona fide minimalist at heart.

Kelly Ross,
Secretary
Kelly Ross (she/they) is the Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Bi+ Canada. She has been a dedicated public servant in the Ontario Public Service for over five years. Prior to that, Kelly worked with children with developmental disabilities at the District School Board of Niagara, and the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic School Board, as well as with adults in not-for-profit organizations such as Community Living. Kelly is the Vice Chair of the Ontario Public Service Pride Network, co-founder and co-chair of the OPS BiPan Support Network, an ally on the OPS Trans Support Network, and a trainer with the Positive Space Champion Program.

Taylor Yeomans,
Board Member
Taylor Yeomans (she/her) is based in so-called Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is the founder of the Bisexual+ Network of Nova Scotia and works at Health Equity Alliance Nova Scotia as a Client Support Coordinator. Taylor is passionate about disability, 2SLGBTQIA+ well-being, and bisexual+ activism and advocacy.
